Bulk Import Companies via CSV
The company import lets you bring a spreadsheet of companies into FunnelStreams in one pass. You can create new companies, update existing ones, or do both, and you get a report when it finishes.
Turn on the import
If you don't see an Import button on the Companies page, go to Settings > Labs and turn on Company and Custom Object Import.
Prepare your file
- Save it as a
.csvwith one header row. - Use one row per company.
- Include a column you can use to spot duplicates, such as the company domain or name.
Import companies
- Go to Companies and click Import.
- Upload your CSV by choosing the file or dragging it in.
- Pick what the import should do:
- Create companies adds new records and skips existing ones.
- Update companies changes existing records and skips new ones.
- Create & update companies does both.
- Choose the field used to detect duplicates.
- Map each CSV column to a company field. Leave columns you don't need unmapped, or create a new custom field.
- Review the preview and the verification step, then submit.
Track the import
Open Bulk Actions and select the Companies view. You can watch progress, see how many rows were created, updated, or skipped, and download a report that lists any rows with errors.
Tips
- Run a small test file first so you can check the mapping.
- Clean up spelling and duplicate rows before you import.
- Updates overwrite the mapped fields, so only map columns you want to change.
