Advanced Filters in Smart Lists

Advanced Filters narrow a Smart List with rules. Each rule has three parts: a field, an operator, and a value. For example, Tags + includes + customer.

Build a filtered Smart List

  1. Go to Contacts and click + Smart List.
  2. Click Advanced Filters.
  3. Search for and select a field.
  4. Choose an operator that fits what you're looking for.
  5. Enter or select the value.
  6. Click + Add Nested Filter to add another condition that must also be true (AND).
  7. Click + Add Filter to add another condition the contact can match instead (OR).
  8. Click Apply, then save the list if you want to reuse it.

Date filters

Use date fields such as Created On, Last Activity On, Date of Birth, Last Appointment At, and the last email opened or clicked dates.
  • Relative options such as Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday move with the calendar.
  • Before, After, and Between use fixed dates.
  • Rolling options such as "in the last 30 days" keep the list current without editing it.

Do Not Disturb filters

Filter by DND status for all channels or a specific channel, such as email or SMS. Use these to keep people who opted out out of your outreach lists.

Text filters

Text fields support operators like is, is not, contains, does not contain, is empty, and is not empty. Empty checks are useful for finding records that are missing data.

Number filters

Number and money fields support equals, greater than, less than, between, and empty checks.

Tips

  • Start broad, then add one rule at a time so you can see the effect.
  • Combine a DND filter with your audience rules before any bulk send.
