How to Add Multiple Phone Numbers for a Contact
A contact can have up to 11 phone numbers, such as mobile, office, and home. You choose one as primary and label the rest.
If you don't see the option, turn it on in Settings > Labs.
Add a number
- Open the contact.
- Next to the phone field, click to add another number.
- Enter the number and choose a label, such as Work or Home.
- Save.
Set the primary number
Mark the number you want as primary. The primary number is used for messages, calls, and automations. If you don't choose one, the first number stays primary.
Call another number
Click the phone icon next to any number on the contact to call it.
Edit labels
You can change a number's label at any time from the contact record.
Good to know
Texting and automations still use the primary number. Make the number that receives texts the primary one.
