Block Checkout When No Shipping Rate Is Available

If a customer's address isn't covered by your shipping zones or shipping integrations, the order can't be shipped. Checkout blocking stops that order before it's placed.

How it works

When the setting is on, checkout checks whether your shipping setup (manual shipping zones or a connected shipping integration) can return a rate for the customer's address. If no rate is available, the customer sees a message that shipping isn't available for their location and can't complete the purchase.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery.
  2. Find the option to block checkout when no shipping rate is available and turn it on.
  3. Save your changes.

Tips

  • Test a few addresses inside and outside your zones with a test order before you launch.
  • If customers report being blocked, check that your shipping zones cover their country, state, or postcode.
