Place a Test Order in Your Store
A test order lets you check your whole order flow, from cart to confirmation, without charging a real card.
When to place a test order
- Before you launch your store
- After you change payment, shipping, or tax settings
- To check customer and team notifications
Place a test order
- Turn on test mode: go to Sites > Stores, open your store, go to Store Settings > Payment Mode, turn on Test Mode, and save.
- Add items to the cart: preview your live store and add one or more products.
- Check out: fill in customer and shipping details like a real customer. Check that address fields, shipping rates, and taxes look right.
- Pay with a test card: use your payment provider's test card details.
- Confirm the order: check the confirmation page, the order in Payments > Orders, and any emails or texts that should go out.
When you're done
Turn Test Mode off before you start taking real orders.
