Chat Widget Spam Protection
Spam protection spots bots trying to send spam through your website chat widget and blocks them. It helps if you're getting lots of junk messages, link drops, or fake contacts.
How it spots bots
- Timing: how fast someone uses the widget after the page loads.
- Mouse movement: people move the mouse in natural, uneven ways. Bots don't.
- Typing: typing speed, moving between fields, and pauses.
- Submission rate: many quick submissions from the same source.
When a bot is detected, the submission is blocked before any message is sent or contact is created.
Turn it on
- Go to Sites > Chat Widget.
- Open the widget you want to protect.
- Scroll to Spam Protection.
- Turn on Enable Spam Protection.
- Click Save.
