Import Email Templates from Another Platform
Moving from another email platform? You can bring your existing templates with you instead of rebuilding them.
Option 1: Import by email
- Go to Marketing → Emails → Templates.
- Click New, then Import.
- Choose Other Platform.
- Copy the email address shown on screen.
- In your old platform, send the template as a test email to that address.
- Back in FunnelStreams, the email appears in your Templates list.
- Open it in the code editor to review and edit.
Option 2: Paste HTML
For a template
- Go to Marketing → Emails → Templates and click New.
- Choose Blank Template, then Code Editor.
- Paste your HTML into the editor. The preview updates as you paste.
- Save.
For a campaign
- Go to Marketing → Emails → Campaigns and click New.
- Choose Blank Campaign, then Code Editor.
- Paste your HTML and save.
Option 3: Import from a public campaign link
If your old platform gives each sent campaign a public web link, you can import from that link.
- Go to Marketing → Emails → Templates.
- Click New, then Import Email.
- In the Import from dropdown, choose your previous platform if it's listed.
- Paste the public link to the campaign.
- Enter a Template Name.
- Select Open in Design Editor to review it right away.
- Click Create Template.
Good to know:
- Only the public campaign link is read. You don't enter any login details for your old platform.
- To bring over a saved template, first create a campaign from it on your old platform, then import that campaign's link.
- Merge tags and dynamic content aren't converted.
- If the layout looks off, fix it in the Code Editor.
After importing
- Replace merge tags from your old platform with FunnelStreams custom values, such as
{{contact.first_name}}. - Check that images load and links work.
- Make sure the email has an unsubscribe link and your physical address.
- Send yourself a test.
