Hide Countdown Timers in Apple Mail

Why Apple Mail can show the wrong time

Email countdown timers are animated images. Apple Mail may cache the image, so the timer can look frozen or out of date when someone reopens the email.

What the setting does

Hide Timer in Apple Mail stops the timer image from showing in Apple Mail. Other email apps still show it as usual.
It only changes whether the timer is displayed. Your deadline and the timer's links keep working, so clicks still go to the active or expired page based on the real time.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Marketing → Countdown Timers.
  2. Open a timer or click + New.
  3. Open the Styling settings.
  4. Scroll to the Apple Mail setting and turn on Hide Timer in Apple Mail.
  5. Save.
  6. Preview and test your email before sending.

Tip

Because Apple Mail readers won't see the timer, mention the deadline in your email text too.
