Use Countdown Timers in Emails
What it is
An email countdown timer shows a live countdown to a deadline inside your email. Use it for sales, event registrations and limited-time offers.
Add a timer to an email
- Create the timer first in Marketing → Countdown Timers.
- Open your email in the email builder.
- Drag the Countdown Timer element into the email.
- Select the timer you want to show.
- Adjust its alignment and spacing.
- Save and preview.
How timers behave in emails
- The timer is an animated image created when the email is opened, so it shows the right time remaining at that moment.
- How it looks can depend on the recipient's email app.
- Some apps cache the image instead of refreshing it. Apple Mail in particular may show an outdated timer. You can hide the timer in Apple Mail from the timer's styling settings.
Always preview and send a test before emailing your whole list.
Tips
- Mention the deadline in your text as well, for people whose email app hides images.
- Use a Dynamic timer for personal deadlines based on when each contact gets or opens the email.
