Time Zone Adaptation in Countdown Timers
What it does
By default, a countdown timer ends at one moment in the time zone you chose. Adapt to Contact Time Zone makes the deadline happen at the same local clock time for each viewer instead, for example midnight wherever they are.
How the time zone is chosen
| Where the timer appears | Time zone used | Fallback | | --- | --- | --- | | Email | The contact's time zone | The timer's time zone | | Funnel or website | The visitor's time zone, detected from their IP address | The timer's time zone |
If the contact's or visitor's time zone isn't available, the timer uses the time zone you selected when setting it up.
Turn it on
- Go to Marketing → Countdown Timers and open a timer, or create a new one.
- Choose the Time zone to use as the fallback.
- Check Adapt to Contact Time Zone.
- Save.
When to use it
- Turn it on when the deadline should be the same local time for everyone, such as "ends at midnight".
- Leave it off when everyone must hit the deadline at the same moment, such as a live event start time.
