Video Element in the Email Builder
No major inbox can play video inside an email. The Video element adds a thumbnail with a play button instead. When readers click it, the video opens in their browser.
The Video element is available in the Design Editor for campaigns and in email templates.
Add a video
- Go to Marketing → Emails.
- Click + Create Campaign, choose Blank, then Design Editor. Or open an email template.
- Drag the Video element into your email.
Video settings
- Video Type: choose YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or HTML5. The play button style matches the platform.
- Video URL: paste the link to your video. The thumbnail fills in automatically when it can be found.
- Video Thumbnail URL: use the automatic thumbnail or add your own image. Use Replace to upload a custom thumbnail or Remove to clear it.
- Width & Height: set the size. Leave blank to use full width.
- Padding: add space around the video.
If the thumbnail can't be fetched, you'll see a warning. Check that the video type matches the link.
A video with a custom width and height is left-aligned. To center it, use padding or place it in a two- or three-column layout.
