Community Workflow Triggers

Community triggers start a workflow when members do something in your community. Use them to send notifications, add tags, start follow-ups, or update contact fields.

Available triggers

Each trigger needs you to pick a group.
  • Group joining request rejected: runs when you decline someone's request to join. Send them an alternative offer or a note explaining why.
  • Group post created: runs when a member publishes a post. Notify your team, tag active members, or reward engagement.
  • Group comment created: runs when a member comments. Track engagement or alert a moderator.
  • Member registered for group event: runs when a member signs up for an event. Send reminders and the meeting link.

Filters

Narrow each trigger with filters, such as a specific channel or event, so the workflow only runs when it should.

Set it up

  1. Go to Automation and create a workflow.
  2. Click Add trigger and search for the community trigger you want.
  3. Choose the group and any filters.
  4. Add your actions, such as Send email or Add tag.
  5. Save and publish.

Ideas

  • Send a welcome text after a member's first post.
  • Tag members who comment often as "Engaged" and invite them to your next offer.
  • Send event reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before a live session.
