Redeem Gift Cards When You Charge a Customer
Your team can apply a customer's gift card while collecting a payment for them, without the customer going through checkout.
Where you can redeem a gift card
- Payments > Orders: open an order, click Record Payment, then Charge a Card.
- Payments > Invoices: open an invoice, click Record Payment, then Charge a Card.
- Contacts: open a contact and click Charge Now.
How it works
- Start the payment from one of the places above.
- Enter the customer's gift card code.
- The available balance is applied to the amount due.
- If the balance doesn't cover everything, charge the rest to a card.
Good to know
- Only active gift cards with a balance can be used.
- For subscriptions, the gift card applies to the first payment only. Later renewals are charged to the saved payment method.
- Gift cards can't be used on future-dated or scheduled subscriptions.
