Create an Embedded Live Chat Widget

An embedded live chat widget sits inside your page content instead of floating in the corner. It works just like regular live chat. Only where it appears changes.
You can embed it on funnels, websites, landing pages, custom HTML sites, and other pages where chat widgets work. It resizes for mobile automatically.

Set it up

  1. Go to Sites > Chat Widget and click + New, or open an existing widget.
  2. Choose Live Chat.
  3. On the Style tab, set Widget Placement to Embedded / Inline.
  4. Customize it:
  5. Look: colors, avatar, header, and branding to match your site.
  6. Chat window: intro message, contact form fields, required fields, and button text.
  7. Behavior: auto-responses, chat assignment, business hours, and the "chat closed" message.
  8. Click Get Code in the top-right and copy the script.
  9. Add it to your page:
  10. Funnels: add a Custom Code element where you want the chat, paste the code, then save and publish.
  11. Websites or other pages: paste the code where you want the chat in your editor or HTML, then publish.
The chat shows exactly where you put the code. Visitors can start a conversation, share their details, and chat in real time.

Good to know

  • Embedded widgets don't float.
  • You can still use floating widgets on other pages.
  • Routing, automations, and contact capture work the same.

Troubleshooting

  • Not showing: check the code is in place and the page is published.
  • Layout looks off: check the container width and look for CSS conflicts.
  • Chats not answered: check chat assignment and business hours.
