Manage WhatsApp User Permissions

WhatsApp user permissions let admins decide which WhatsApp settings each team member can change, without removing their access to WhatsApp altogether.

The seven permissions

  • Create/edit WhatsApp templates
  • Delete WhatsApp templates
  • Create/edit WhatsApp Flows
  • Delete/deprecate WhatsApp Flows
  • Update WhatsApp business profile
  • Add/manage WhatsApp phone numbers
  • Disconnect WhatsApp integration
Disconnecting WhatsApp and canceling a WhatsApp subscription are different things.

How they work

These permissions cover actions that change your WhatsApp setup. Viewing and previewing still follow the user's general WhatsApp access.
  • Existing users keep their current WhatsApp access by default.
  • When a permission is off, that action isn't available to the user, and they may see a message explaining why. For example, they can open WhatsApp templates but can't create or edit one.

Set permissions

  1. Go to Settings > My Staff and open the team member.
  2. Open Roles & Permissions and find the WhatsApp permissions.
  3. Turn each permission on or off.
  4. Save.
If someone suddenly can't do a WhatsApp task, check these seven permissions before changing their wider access.
