WhatsApp Onboarding Options
When you connect WhatsApp, you pick the setup that fits how you use WhatsApp today.
Option 1: Keep your WhatsApp Business app (coexistence)
Keep using the WhatsApp Business app on your phone while also managing chats in FunnelStreams.
Use this if you already use the WhatsApp Business app and want to keep using it on your phone.
Before you start:
- Check the country code.
- Confirm the number in Meta Business Manager.
- Have the phone with the WhatsApp Business app ready.
Option 2: Create a new WhatsApp Business account
Best if you're starting fresh, or connecting a number that isn't active on WhatsApp.
Use this if you don't have a WhatsApp Business account yet, or you have a landline or unused mobile number.
Before you start:
- If the number is on personal WhatsApp or the WhatsApp Business app, back up your chats and remove it from there.
- Make sure the number can get an SMS or voice call to verify it, unless you're using a free +1-555 number.
Free +1-555 numbers: eligible accounts can claim up to two free +1-555 numbers during setup. They can't be moved to another WhatsApp Business account or used outside WhatsApp, they depend on availability, and you still need an approved display name.
Option 3: Move from another WhatsApp provider
Use this if you use WhatsApp through another business solution provider and want to move your existing WhatsApp Business account, number, and assets to FunnelStreams.
Before you start:
- Turn off two-step verification.
- Confirm your business is verified in Meta Business Manager.
- Confirm your display name is approved.
Connect
- Go to Settings > WhatsApp and review the options.
- Choose the one that matches your setup.
- Complete the preparation steps shown.
- Click Connect with Facebook and finish Meta's signup steps.
- When you're done, check your WhatsApp settings, templates, phone number, and conversations.
