WhatsApp Template Error: Body Parameter Contains URL

This error means you're putting a link into a body variable (like {{1}}) when the template was approved for plain text in that spot.

Why it happens

  • A variable is filled with a link, like https://example.com/deal/123.
  • The body variables were approved for names, codes, or dates, not links.
  • A link shortener is used in a variable. Many are blocked.
  • The link should be in a button instead.

Fix it

Option A: put the link in the body
If the link is the same for everyone, write it straight into the template body, with no variable. For example: "Hi {{1}}, please review your offer: https://example.com/offers"
Option B: use a website button
Add a Visit Website button to the template. Set the base URL, like https://example.com/order/, and button text, like "View Order". If the link changes per contact, add a variable to the end of the button URL and fill it with the changing part, like the order number.
Both options need a new or edited template approved by Meta.
