Generate AI Responses with OpenRouter in Workflows
OpenRouter gives you access to many AI models through one connection. The Generate Response action sends a prompt to the model you pick and returns its reply.
How it works
- The model you selected is called.
- An optional system prompt sets the tone or behavior, such as "You are a friendly support agent."
- Your main prompt is sent to the model.
- The model writes a response.
- The response is available to later workflow steps.
Set it up
- Add the OpenRouter Generate Response action and connect your OpenRouter account with your API key.
- Pick a model.
- Add a system prompt if you want one, then write your prompt. You can include contact fields and trigger data.
- Test the action and save.
Use the response in actions like Send Email, Send SMS, or Update Contact Field.
