Set Up Workflow Goal Events
A goal event watches for something you want the contact to do. When they do it, they skip ahead to the goal step, no matter where they are in the workflow.
Goal types
Goals can include email events like opened or clicked, adding or removing a tag, booking an appointment, making a purchase, and more.
What happens if the goal isn't met
When a contact reaches the goal step without meeting the goal, you choose what happens:
- End this workflow: remove them from the workflow.
- Continue anyway: keep going with the next steps.
- Wait until the goal is met: hold them at the goal step.
Set it up
- In your workflow, add a Goal Event action where the goal path should start.
- Choose the goal type and any details, such as which email or tag.
- Choose what happens if the goal isn't met.
- Add the steps that should happen after the goal.
- Save and publish.
Examples
- In a drip series, move people to the next email only once they've opened the last one.
- Stop sales follow-ups as soon as someone books a call.
- Start a win-back path when someone unsubscribes.
