Temporarily Disable Actions in a Workflow

You can switch off any step in a workflow without deleting it or breaking its connections. Disabled steps are skipped when the workflow runs. Turn them back on whenever you're ready. This is handy for testing, troubleshooting, and trying out changes.

Turn a step off or on

  1. Open the workflow in the builder.
  2. Hover over the step and click the pause icon, or use the Enable/Disable switch.
  3. Disabled steps are greyed out and labeled Disabled. Do the same again to turn the step back on.
  4. Save the workflow.

What happens when it runs

  • Disabled steps are skipped.
  • Steps after a disabled one still run, even if the disabled step is on the only path to them.
  • Steps you turn back on run as set up again.
