AI Agent Action
The AI Agent action plans and carries out a task on its own, using your plain-language instructions and the tools you let it use. One AI Agent step can replace several separate steps. For example, it can find a contact, create a booking link, format a date, and send a follow-up message.
Settings
- Action Name: defaults to "AI Agent." Rename it to describe the job.
- Template: start from a ready-made setup, or choose Build Your Own.
- Instructions: what the agent should do, how to decide, and what rules to follow. This is the most important setting.
- Enhance Prompt: reorganizes rough instructions into a clearer, more detailed prompt. You can undo it.
- Model: the AI model that runs the agent.
- Tools: the actions the agent is allowed to take.
- Conversation Memory: gives the agent a running summary of earlier runs of this step for the same contact.
- Output Format: how the agent formats its answer.
Templates
Templates fill in the instructions and tools for common jobs. Some need a specific trigger. Options include Form Lead Follow Up, No Show Appointment Recovery, Facebook Lead Nurturing, Stale Deal Nudge Agent, Lead Research & Enrichment, New Appointment: Enrich & Confirm, Quiz Lead Scoring & Routing, Call Transcript Summary & Action Items, Task Creation from Won Deals, Instagram Comment-to-DM, Facebook Comment-to-DM, and Lead Pipeline Tracker.
Write good instructions
Strong instructions usually include:
- A role, such as "You are a friendly follow-up assistant."
- What trigger data is available.
- The steps to follow.
- If/then rules for decisions.
- Guidelines for messages.
- Things the agent must not do.
You can write in plain language and click Enhance Prompt to tidy it up. The editor supports headings, bold text, lists, code blocks, and quotes.
Set up tools
Click + Add Tool and pick tools by category or search. For each tool:
- Turn Let AI decide all field values on to let the agent fill every field.
- Turn it off to set some fields yourself. The agent fills in any you leave blank. Each field has its own toggle too.
Add the action
- Go to Automation > Workflows and create or open a workflow.
- Add a trigger, such as Form Submitted or Contact Created.
- Click + and choose AI Agent from the Workflow AI section.
- Name the action and pick a template or Build Your Own.
- Write or adjust the instructions, then choose the model.
- Add and set up the tools.
- Save, then test with a real contact before publishing.
