Create and Update Multiple Rows in Google Sheets

The Google Sheets action can add or update more than one row in a single step. Use it to log several entries at once, keep a sheet in sync, or refresh a block of existing rows.

Before you start

  • Connect your Google account.
  • Put clear column headers in the first row of the sheet.
  • Check the tab name you'll pick.
  • After adding, renaming, or moving columns, click Refresh Headers in the action.

Create multiple rows

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows and open a workflow with a trigger, such as Form Submitted.
  2. Click +, search for Google Sheets, and choose it.
  3. Choose Create Multiple Spreadsheet Row(s) as the action.
  4. Choose your Google account, the Drive, the spreadsheet, and the worksheet tab.
  5. Optionally click Refresh Headers to load the latest column names.
  6. Choose the Starting Column and Ending Column. Columns are labeled with the header names from the first row.
  7. Map your data and click Save Action.

Update multiple rows

  1. Add the Google Sheets action and choose Update Multiple Spreadsheet Row(s).
  2. Choose your Google account, the Drive, the spreadsheet, and the worksheet tab.
  3. Enter the row number where the update should start.
  4. Choose the Starting Column and Ending Column, and refresh the headers if needed.
  5. Map your data and click Save Action.
Use update when the rows already exist and you want to refresh their values without adding duplicates.
