Use the Cookie Consent Banner in Funnels and Websites
The cookie consent banner lets visitors accept or decline cookies on your funnels and websites. It helps you work toward privacy rules like GDPR and CCPA. Using it doesn't guarantee you comply with any specific law, so check your own legal requirements.
Turn on the banner
- Open your funnel or website in the builder.
- Go to the page where you want the banner.
- Click the Cookie Consent Banner Settings icon.
- Turn the banner on.
Cookies are managed per domain, so once it's on, the banner works on every page of that funnel or website.
Buttons visitors see
On the banner:
- Accept Essential: only the cookies the site needs to work.
- Accept All: all cookies, including tracking and analytics.
In the preferences popup:
- Reject: only essential cookies.
- Cancel: close the popup and go back to the banner.
- Save Preferences: save the visitor's choices.
Customize the banner
General
- Show or hide the cookie list.
- Pick a compliance type: Ask to Opt-In shows Accept Essential and Accept All. Don't Ask shows just an OK button.
- Add a message and a link to your privacy policy.
- Set colors, fonts, and text size.
Advanced
- Consent expiration: how many days before visitors are asked again.
Layout
- Choose a banner style that fits your page.
Button text
You can rename every button: Accept All, Accept Essential, Customize, and OK on the banner, and Reject, Save Preferences, and Cancel in the popup. Once you change these labels, automatic translations turn off, so add your own translations for each language you support.
Choose where it shows
- Worldwide: every visitor.
- EU & UK: only visitors in the European Union and United Kingdom.
- Select Countries: only the countries you pick.
This avoids showing the banner to visitors who don't need it.
Manage the cookie list
Cookies are grouped into categories visitors can turn on or off:
- Essential: needed for the site to work. Always on.
- Functional: features like social sharing and feedback.
- Analytics: visitor behavior, such as page views and bounce rates.
- Performance: site speed and experience.
- Advertising: targeted ads and marketing.
- Uncategorized: anything not in another category.
For each cookie, add:
- Cookie key: the cookie's name. You can use a pattern to match several cookies, such as
_ga.*for all Google Analytics cookies or_fbpfor the Meta pixel. - Duration: how long it lasts, such as 1 day or 1 year.
- Domain: the domain that sets it.
- Description: what it's for.
Put Meta pixel cookies (
_fbp, _fbc) under Advertising, and Google Analytics and Tag Manager cookies (_ga, _gid) under Analytics.Find the cookies your site uses
- Turn the banner off for a moment. It blocks non-essential cookies, so a scan with it on will miss some.
- Scan your site with a free cookie scanner.
- Add each cookie it finds to the right category.
- Turn the banner back on.
