Why Tracking Code Isn't Copied When You Copy a Page

When you copy a funnel step or website page, any tracking code added to that page itself isn't copied. Tracking added in the funnel or website settings still applies to every page, including the copy.
Before you add tracking to a copied page, check whether the same script is already in the funnel or website settings. Adding it twice can double-count your events.

Why it isn't copied

Page-level scripts are often tied to one page, campaign, conversion event, analytics property, or ad account. Copying them by accident could send data to the wrong place, especially when you reuse a page in a different funnel or website.

Page-level or site-wide?

| Type | Best for | Where to add it | | --- | --- | --- | | Page-level | Scripts or events that should run on one step or page, like a purchase conversion. | The page's Tracking Code area in the builder. | | Site-wide | Scripts that should run on every page, like your Google Analytics or Meta pixel base code. | The funnel or website Settings. |

Add tracking to one page

  1. Go to Sites, then Funnels or Websites, and open the funnel or website.
  2. Open the copied page in the builder.
  3. Click the Tracking Code (code) icon.
  4. Paste the script into Header Tracking or Footer Tracking, as the script's provider tells you.
  5. Click Save, then preview and test the page.

Add tracking to the whole funnel or website

  1. Open the funnel or website and go to its Settings.
  2. Find Head tracking code or Body tracking code.
  3. Paste the script where the provider tells you.
  4. Save, then check the script on your published pages.

Check it works

  1. Publish the page.
  2. Open it in a new browser window.
  3. Do the thing you want to track, such as viewing the page or submitting a form.
  4. Use your analytics or ad platform's test tool to confirm the event arrived.
  5. Check the event is linked to the right page and fires only once.
Tracking code may not show in View Page Source, because it can load after the page does. Use your browser's developer tools or the provider's test tool instead.

Troubleshooting

| Problem | What to check | | --- | --- | | Tracking disappeared after copying | Expected for page-level code. Add the right code to the copied page. | | No events from the copied page | Check the page's Tracking Code area and the funnel or website settings. | | Events fire twice | The same script may be in both the page and the settings. Remove one. | | The wrong conversion fires | Make sure the copied page uses the right event code. | | The page looks broken | Remove custom code and CSS one at a time to find the cause. |
