Campaign Verify Token for Political Toll-Free Messaging

What changed

Since February 17, 2026, carriers require a valid Campaign Verify (CV) auth token for any toll-free number used for political election campaign messaging. This applies to:
  • New toll-free verification submissions for political election campaigns
  • Toll-free numbers that are already approved and are used for political election messaging
Messages that don't meet the requirement may be rejected or restricted.

What is a Campaign Verify token?

A Campaign Verify token is a credential issued by Campaign Verify after it confirms that a political committee or candidate is legitimate. Carriers use it to confirm the sender is who they say they are.
Use the identity of the actual campaign or committee, not the identity of a consultant or vendor that sends on its behalf.

Get a token

  1. Go to the Campaign Verify website and register the candidate or committee.
  2. Complete their verification. Campaign Verify may ask for FEC or state filing details.
  3. When you're approved, generate an auth token for toll-free messaging and copy it.

Add the token to your toll-free verification

  1. In your sub-account, go to Settings → Phone System → Trust Center (or the toll-free verification form for the number).
  2. Choose the Political use case for the campaign.
  3. Paste the Campaign Verify token into the token field.
  4. Submit or resubmit the verification.

Tips

  • Tokens expire. Renew your token before it lapses so messaging isn't interrupted.
  • If the verification is rejected, check that the business name and details exactly match what you registered with Campaign Verify.
