Connect Facebook and Instagram Messages to Conversations
Connect Facebook Messenger and Instagram direct messages so they arrive in Conversations next to your texts and emails. You can reply from FunnelStreams and the customer sees the reply in Messenger or Instagram.
Before you start
- Your Facebook user needs full control of the Page, including message access. Check this in Meta Business Suite under Settings > People.
- For Instagram, the Instagram professional account must be linked to the Facebook Page, and your user needs message access for it.
Connect
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- On the Facebook card, click Connect and log in. Grant every permission Facebook asks for.
- Choose the Page or Pages to connect.
- On the Facebook card, open Settings and turn on Facebook Messenger and Instagram messaging for each Page.
You can also connect Instagram on its own. See "Instagram Direct Integration."
Test it
Send a message to your Page or Instagram account from another account. It should show up in Conversations within a minute or two.
Messages not showing up?
Check these in order:
- App permissions: In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations. Find the app you connected, click View and edit, and make sure the message permissions are on for your Page.
- Page access: In Meta Business Suite, confirm your user has full control and message access for the Page and the Instagram account.
- Instagram is linked: Make sure the Instagram account shows in the Page's connected assets.
- Instagram connected tools: In the Instagram app, go to Settings and activity > Messages and story replies > Message requests and turn on Allow access to connected tools.
- Messaging toggles: Under Settings > Integrations > Facebook > Settings, make sure messaging is on for that Page.
If it still doesn't work, disconnect Facebook and connect it again with the same Facebook user.
