Set Up Unsubscribe Links
An unsubscribe link lets recipients opt out of your marketing emails. It's required by law, expected by Gmail and Yahoo, and helps keep spam complaints down.
Turn the default link on or off
- Go to Settings → Email Services.
- Find the Unsubscribe link setting and turn it on or off.
When it's on, an unsubscribe link is added to the footer of your emails.
Customize the default link
In the same setting, edit the link text (for example "Manage preferences" or "Unsubscribe") and choose your language.
Add the link to a template
You can add the link in two ways:
- Add the unsubscribe tag in your template. In the Email Builder, select text, insert a link and choose the Unsubscribe option (or use the unsubscribe custom value). The link appears exactly where you place it.
- Use the global option so the link is added automatically to every email without editing each template.
FAQ
What if my email already has an unsubscribe link? FunnelStreams detects it and doesn't add a second one.
How do I remove the default footer link? Turn off the setting, but make sure each marketing template has its own unsubscribe link.
