Facebook Lead Ads Integration and Troubleshooting
The Facebook Lead Ads integration brings leads from your Facebook and Instagram instant forms into FunnelStreams automatically, so you can follow up right away with workflows.
Before you start
- You need to be an admin with full control of the Facebook Page running the ads.
- In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings > People and check that your user has full control of the Page and access to leads.
- Create any custom fields you want to map form answers into. Supported field types: text, large text, number, phone, monetary, single option, date, dropdown, radio, and checkbox.
Connect your Page
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- On the Facebook card, click Connect and log in. Grant every permission.
- Pick the Page or Pages to connect.
- Open Form field mapping and map each lead form. See "Map Facebook Lead Form Fields."
Only the Facebook user who connected the Page sees it in the page list. Use the same user if you reconnect.
Leads aren't coming in
- Admin access: confirm you're a full-control admin of the Page.
- Right form: make sure the form in your ad is the one you mapped. Mapped forms show a check mark under Settings > Integrations > Facebook form field mapping.
- App access: in Facebook, go to Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations. Find the app you connected, click View and edit, and turn on every permission, including leads access for your Page.
- Leads access: in Meta Business Suite, open Business settings > Integrations > Leads access and make sure the connected app is allowed for the Page.
- Test: use Meta's Lead Ads Testing Tool. Pick your Page and form, click Create lead, and check that the lead shows up in your contacts. If the test shows the CRM app as failed or missing, the app doesn't have access. Fix steps 3 and 4, then reconnect.
"Facebook connection has expired"
Facebook connections expire when the password changes, the user loses Page access, security checks run, or permissions are removed. Leads stop syncing until you reconnect.
To reconnect:
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- On the Facebook card, disconnect, then click Connect again with the same Facebook user.
- Select the same Pages and check your form mapping.
Common errors
- Page quality issue: Facebook restricted the Page. Fix the issue in Meta's Page Quality area, then reconnect.
- Permission issue: a permission was turned off. Turn everything on under Business integrations, then reconnect.
- Instagram messages missing: make sure Instagram is linked to the Page and messaging is turned on. See "Connect Facebook and Instagram Messages to Conversations."
Missed leads
If leads came in while the connection was broken, download them from Meta and import them. See "Export Facebook Leads and Add Them Manually."
