Google Business Profile Troubleshooting
If a Google Business Profile listing won't connect, the error usually comes from Google. Here's what each one means and how to fix it.
Ownership conflict
Error: "Resolve ownership conflicts – this location duplicates another location."
Someone else already manages this listing.
- Go to Google's add-a-business page and search for your business name.
- Select your listing and click Continue. Google shows who manages it, often as a partly hidden email.
- If you know the owner, ask them to add you as an owner or manager.
- If you don't, click Request access, fill in the form, and submit. Google emails the owner. Allow about 3 days for a reply.
Waiting for verification
Error: "Wait to gain the Voice of the Merchant."
Verification has started but isn't finished. Complete the verification steps Google sent you, then reconnect.
Verification needed
Error: "Google Business Profile needs verification or re-verification."
Verify the listing in your Google Business Profile account. If you can't, contact Google Business Profile support and include your listing's location ID.
Suspended or disabled listing
Errors:
BUSINESS_LOCATION_SUSPENDED or BUSINESS_LOCATION_DISABLEDGoogle suspended or disabled the listing for a guidelines issue. Review Google's guidelines for business listings, fix the issue, and ask Google to reinstate it. Then reconnect.
Still stuck?
Disconnect Google Business Profile under Settings > Integrations, sign in again with the account that owns the listing, and reconnect.
