SEO Pixel Not Detected? Install and Fix It
The SEO pixel is a small code snippet from the SEO tool. Once it's on a website hosted outside FunnelStreams, the SEO tool can apply AI-suggested fixes automatically, such as:
- Title tags
- Meta descriptions
- Image alt text
You don't need the pixel for sites you build in FunnelStreams. Fixes apply to those directly.
When you need it
- Your site is hosted elsewhere, such as WordPress, Wix, Shopify, or a custom site.
- The SEO tool shows SEO Pixel not detected.
- You want SEO fixes applied to that site automatically.
Install it
The snippet must go inside the
<body> section, just before the closing </body> tag.- Open the SEO tool for your website.
- Click View Installation Steps and copy the snippet.
WordPress
- Log in to WordPress admin.
- Install a plugin that lets you add code to the body, such as a header and footer code plugin.
- Paste the snippet into the plugin's Body section and save.
Wix
- In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings > Custom Code.
- Click Add Code, choose Body, and paste the snippet.
- Save and publish.
Other sites
- Open your site's HTML template or custom code settings.
- Paste the snippet just before
</body>. - Save and publish.
Verify it
- Go back to the SEO tool and click your website again to run a new check.
- Click Verify Installation.
Apply fixes
- Open a fix category, such as Title Tags or Meta Descriptions.
- Review the Suggested Fix column.
- Click Fix Issue.
- Use the Not Fixed and Fixed filters to keep track.
You can undo a fix after it's applied.
Still says "not detected"?
- The snippet is in the
<head>instead of the<body>. - The site wasn't republished.
- A cache or CDN is serving an old version. Clear it.
- The snippet was changed or only partly copied.
Good to know
- Each website has its own snippet.
- The snippet is lightweight and shouldn't slow your site.
- If you move the site to another account, create and install a new snippet.
