How to Migrate Existing React Projects to SSR in AI Studio
Older AI Studio projects run as front-end only apps. Migrate to SSR converts a copy of the project to the server-side rendering setup. Your original project, connected domains, and version history stay as they are.
Why migrate
Migrate when your project needs:
- Better SEO and social previews.
- Server Functions or REST endpoints.
- Secure Secrets for API keys.
- Cloud for data, user accounts, and files.
Migrate a project
- Open the project in AI Studio.
- Open the project menu and choose Migrate to SSR.
- Read the summary and confirm.
- AI Studio creates a new migrated project. Wait until it finishes.
- Open the new project and preview every page.
After migration
- Fix any layout or behavior differences by asking AI Studio or using the Code Editor.
- Connect your forms and calendars again if needed.
- When you're happy, publish the new project and move your domain to it.
Your original site stays live until you move the domain, so you can test without risk.
