Agent Studio: Router Tool (AI and Conditional Router)
The Router node decides which node an agent goes to next. You can use it in agent flows and inside Sequential Nodes, so a step-by-step process can branch when it needs to.
Routing types
| Type | How it decides | Use it when | | --- | --- | --- | | AI Router | Reads what the person means in plain language. | People may say the same thing in different ways, or you want to branch on interest or sentiment. | | Conditional Router | Checks saved variables against rules. | You have exact data to check, such as a tag, a field value, or a number. | | No Condition | Always goes to the next connected node. | You just need to continue the flow. |
Set up an AI Router
- Open your Flow Agent in AI Agents > Agent Studio.
- Add a Router node and choose AI Router.
- Add a path for each intent, with a short description. For example: "Wants to book a call" and "Has a billing question."
- Connect each path to the node that should handle it.
- Add a fallback path for anything that doesn't match.
Set up a Conditional Router
- Add a Router node and choose Conditional Router.
- Add a condition for each path, such as
budgetis greater than 1000. - Connect each path to its next node.
- Set a default path for when no condition matches.
Tips
- Keep AI Router descriptions short and clearly different from each other.
- Always add a fallback or default path.
- Test each path in the test panel before you publish.
