Configure and Connect a Domain You Bought in FunnelStreams
When you buy a domain in FunnelStreams, you manage it right here. There's no registrar account to sign in to. You can check its status and renewal date, add DNS records, and connect it to a funnel, website, store, or blog.
These steps are for domains you bought in FunnelStreams. If you bought your domain somewhere else, use "How to Connect a New Domain to FunnelStreams" instead.
Find your domain
- Go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects.
- Find the domain under Purchased Domains.
- Wait for its status to show Active. A brand-new domain may show Setting up your Domain for a short time, and the Configure button stays unavailable until setup finishes. Setup usually takes about a minute.
- Click Configure.
The configuration page shows your current DNS records and gives you two options: Add Record and Connect this domain.
What "Renews on" means
Renews on is the date the domain is set to renew for another term. For example, "Renews on: September 10, 2027" means it will renew that day, as long as renewal stays on and the charge goes through. See "Domain Expiry, Renewal, and Recovery" for what happens if a domain isn't renewed.
Connect the domain to a site
- On the configuration page, click Connect this domain.
- Confirm the domain or subdomain you want to use. If offered, choose whether to include the www version too.
- Click Continue.
- Choose what to connect: Funnel, Website, Store, or Blog.
- Pick the specific funnel, website, store, or blog from the dropdown and review any extra options.
- Click Proceed to finish.
- Go back to the configuration page and check that the new DNS records are there.
FunnelStreams adds the records for you, so you don't need to copy any values. DNS changes can take a little while to spread, so the domain may not load right away.
Add a DNS record
Add a record when another service, like an email provider or a verification check, gives you values to enter.
- On the configuration page, click Add Record.
- Choose the record Type.
- Enter the Name, the value or destination, and the TTL the other service gave you. The fields change depending on the record type.
- Click Save.
You can add these record types:
- A: points a name to an IPv4 address.
- CNAME: points one name to another name.
- AAAA: points a name to an IPv6 address.
- MX: tells the internet where to deliver email for the domain.
- TXT: holds text, often used for verification and email authentication.
Don't change records that are already there unless you know what they do. DNS records can control your email and other services, not just your website.
Avoid adding more than one A record for the root domain unless a setup specifically asks for it. Extra root records can clash with the record FunnelStreams adds when you connect a site.
Use one domain for several sites
A root domain should point to one site at a time. To run different sites under one name, use subdomains:
www.example.comfor your websitestore.example.comfor your storeblog.example.comfor your blog
FAQs
Why can't I click Configure? The domain is still being set up. Wait for the status to change to Active, then refresh the page.
Do I need to verify a domain I bought here? No. Domains bought in FunnelStreams don't need the registrar verification step used for domains from other registrars.
Can I connect the same root domain to a funnel and a website? No. Point the root domain at one, and use a subdomain for the other.
My domain stays in setup or shows an error. What should I send support? Contact FunnelStreams support with the domain name, a screenshot of its status, what shows next to Renews on, roughly when you bought it, and any error message.
