Transfer a Domain Into FunnelStreams
If your domain is registered somewhere else, like GoDaddy, Namecheap, IONOS, or Cloudflare, you can transfer it into FunnelStreams. After the transfer, you manage its DNS, renewals, and billing here, next to the funnels and websites that use it. The time left on your registration carries over, and the transfer adds one more year.
If you only want your domain to point at FunnelStreams, you don't need to transfer it. See "How to Connect a New Domain to FunnelStreams."
Don't see a transfer option? Domain transfer isn't turned on for every account yet. Contact FunnelStreams support to ask about it.
How it works
- Enter the domain you want to transfer.
- Eligibility check. FunnelStreams confirms the domain can be transferred.
- Review DNS records so your website and email keep working.
- Finalize. Unlock the domain at your current registrar, enter its authorization code, and pay the transfer fee.
- Approve the transfer at your current registrar.
Most transfers finish in 1 to 5 days after you approve them.
Before you start
- You can sign in to the registrar where the domain is registered now.
- The domain was registered or last transferred more than 60 days ago.
- You can turn off DNSSEC and WHOIS privacy at your current registrar.
- You can unlock the domain and get its authorization code, also called an EPP code or transfer code.
- The contact email on the domain is correct. Approval emails go there.
- You can sign in to wherever your DNS is hosted. That may not be your registrar. If you changed your nameservers to another service, like Cloudflare, that service holds your DNS records.
- Save a copy of your current DNS records.
Step 1: Start the transfer
- Go to Settings > Domains & URL Redirects.
- Click Purchase/Transfer Domain (or Transfer-In Domain). If the domain is already connected to your account, click Transfer-In next to it instead.
- Type the domain and click Continue.
Step 2: Check eligibility
FunnelStreams checks the domain against registrar rules and technical requirements. If it's eligible, you'll see:
- The domain name and its current registrar
- The current expiration date and the new one, one year later
- The transfer fee, which pays for that extra year
A domain can't be transferred if:
- Its current registrar or domain ending isn't supported
- It was bought in FunnelStreams in the first place
- It was registered or transferred in the last 60 days
- It has a status that blocks transfers, like
pendingDelete, redemptionPeriod, orserverHold - The extra year would push it past the longest term allowed
If the domain isn't eligible, Continue is grayed out and a message explains why. If DNSSEC is the problem, you'll see a notice telling you to turn it off. After you do, wait up to 48 hours, then check again. See "Turn Off DNSSEC Before Transferring a Domain."
Step 3: Review your DNS records
A transfer doesn't move your DNS records on its own. Import them, then check that nothing is missing. You can upload a zone file from your DNS provider, which is the most complete option, or let FunnelStreams scan your live records. Scans can miss records, so always compare the list with your DNS provider.
When everything matches, check the confirmation box and click Continue. For the full walkthrough, see "Review and Import DNS Records When Transferring a Domain."
Step 4: Finalize the transfer
Do these at your current registrar. The exact menu names vary by registrar.
Turn off DNSSEC and WHOIS privacy
- Sign in to your current registrar.
- Open the domain's DNS or domain settings.
- Turn off DNSSEC.
- Turn off WHOIS privacy protection if it's on. (At Namecheap, this is called WhoisGuard.)
- Save.
Unlock the domain and get the authorization code
- Open the domain's management settings.
- Turn off Domain Lock or Registrar Lock. Some registrars keep this under Security or Transfer settings.
- Find the authorization code. It may be labeled EPP code, Transfer Code, or AuthInfo. Some registrars show it on screen, and others email it to the domain's contact address.
Submit
Back in FunnelStreams, enter the code and click Confirm and Finalize Transfer. FunnelStreams checks that the domain is unlocked, that the code is valid, and that nothing at the registry blocks the move. If everything checks out, it charges the transfer fee and submits the request.
Step 5: Approve at your current registrar
The transfer stays pending until you approve it at your current registrar. You can usually do that in one of two ways:
- Email: click the approval link your registrar sends to the domain's contact address.
- Dashboard: approve it in your registrar's transfer area. At IONOS, for example, sign in, go to Domains & SSL, click the domain, and approve the pending transfer.
If you do nothing, many registrars approve the transfer automatically after 5 to 7 days. Approving it yourself is usually faster.
After the transfer
- The domain shows under Internal Domains in Settings > Domains & URL Redirects, and Manage becomes available for DNS, renewals, and more.
- Check that your DNS records point your website, funnels, and email to the right places.
- Reconnect anything that uses the domain, like email sending domains, funnel and website domains, and Client Portal domains.
- Turn on auto-renew.
If the transfer is rejected
A transfer can be rejected if you cancel it, if the registrar blocks it (for example, with the 60-day lock), or if it isn't approved in time. The status changes to Rejected, and the Transfer to Us button comes back so you can try again after fixing the problem.
Troubleshooting
- Authorization code rejected: ask your registrar for a new code and make sure the domain is unlocked.
- No approval email: check that the contact email on the domain is correct, and look in spam.
- Domain still locked: make sure the registrar lock is fully off.
- Taking more than 7 days: some registrars are slow to release domains. Check the status in your current registrar's account.
- Website or email stopped working: compare your DNS records in FunnelStreams with your old DNS provider and add anything that's missing.
FAQs

.com, .net, and .org, are supported. Some country endings may not be.Will the transfer cause downtime? Not if your DNS records are complete before you finalize. Always cross-check them.
Can I transfer the domain out again later? Yes, but you usually have to wait 60 days after a transfer. See "Transfer a Domain Out of FunnelStreams."
