Track Forms on Your External Website

External tracking is a small script that sends form submissions from your other websites straight into FunnelStreams as contacts. You don't need Zapier, webhooks, or custom code.

Set it up

  1. Go to Settings > External Tracking.
  2. Copy the tracking script.
  3. Paste it into the <head> of your website, on every page with a form.
  4. Submit a test entry on your site.
  5. Check it arrived under Sites > Forms > Submissions and in Contacts.

Which forms work

The script finds forms that are part of the page itself, including:
  • WordPress forms such as Gravity Forms, WPForms, and Contact Form 7
  • Custom HTML forms
  • Forms on most no-code website builders
Forms loaded inside an iframe or a third-party pop-up widget can't be read, so they aren't captured.

Field mapping

Fields are matched automatically. Fields named like email, phone, first name, and last name map to the matching contact fields. Give your form fields clear names so they map correctly.

Attribution

Each submission records where the visitor came from, such as an ad, search, or social post, so your attribution reports include leads from your external site.

Use it in workflows

Use the Form Submitted trigger and choose your external form to follow up right away, for example by sending a welcome email or assigning the lead.
