Create and Link a Regulatory Bundle for Australian Local Numbers

Why this is required

Under Australia's updated Know Your Customer (KYC) rules, every Australian local number must be linked to an approved Regulatory Bundle. Existing Australian local numbers that aren't linked to an approved bundle by March 2027 will stop working for messaging and calling.

1. Check which numbers need action

  1. In your sub-account, go to Settings → Phone System → Phone Numbers.
  2. Look for the Action required banner at the top of the page. It shows how many Australian local numbers still need a bundle.
  3. Numbers that need attention show a Bundle required tag.
If you don't see the banner or tag, your numbers are already compliant.

2. Choose a bundle type

Pick Business if the numbers belong to a registered company, or Individual if they belong to a person.

3. Gather your documents

For a business bundle you'll typically need:
  • Registered business name and Australian business address (no PO boxes)
  • Business registration document (ASIC extract, ABN registration or equivalent)
  • Proof of the physical street address (utility bill or lease in the business name)
  • A public website or verified social media profile for the business
  • The authorized representative's government-issued photo ID
  • Proof the representative can act for the business (for example a letter of authorization)
Save documents as PDF, JPG or PNG under 5 MB each, with all text sharp and visible.

4. Create and submit the bundle

  1. Go to Settings → Phone System → Regulatory Bundles.
  2. Click Create Bundle and select Australia, the number type and the bundle type.
  3. Enter the details and upload the documents.
  4. Submit the bundle for review.

5. Link the approved bundle

When the bundle is approved, open Phone Numbers, select each Australian local number, and link the bundle. The Bundle required tag disappears once the number is compliant.

Troubleshooting

  • Bundle rejected: read the rejection reason, fix the document or detail and resubmit.
  • Address mismatch: the address on your documents must match the address you entered exactly.
