Message Throughput and Trust Scores for A2P 10DLC

Throughput

Throughput is measured in message segments per second (MPS). A segment is up to 160 standard characters (fewer with emojis or special characters). Each registered campaign gets a maximum MPS, shared by all numbers on that campaign. An account-level limit also applies across all campaigns.
T-Mobile also sets daily message limits, which are separate from throughput.

Trust Score

Standard brands get a Trust Score from 1 to 100 during registration. It's based on your business details and doesn't change automatically. Low scores often come from mismatched details (such as a different address than tax records) or a small business presence.

Throughput by Trust Score (standard and marketing/mixed campaigns)

| Trust Score | Total MPS to major US networks | AT&T | T-Mobile | Verizon | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 75–100 | 225 | 75 | 75 | 75 | | 50–74 | 120 | 40 | 40 | 40 | | 1–49 | 12 | 4 | 4 | 4 | | Low Volume Standard (no secondary vetting) | 12 | 4 | 4 | 4 |
Messages to smaller US carriers use a lower separate limit.

Sole proprietor brands

Sole proprietor brands are for individuals or small businesses without a tax ID. They're limited to one campaign and one number, with low throughput (about 0.25 MPS to AT&T and 1 MPS per number to T-Mobile and Verizon).

Toll-free numbers

Toll-free texting isn't affected by these 10DLC limits.

Improving a low Trust Score

Correct mismatched brand details and resubmit the brand. See A2P 10DLC Brand Approval Best Practices.
