Allow Microphone Access in Your Browser
If clicking Enable for the microphone does nothing, your mic is being blocked by your browser or your operating system.
Chrome
- Look for a mic blocked icon on the left of the address bar.
- Click the site settings icon next to the web address.
- Set Microphone to Allow.
- Reload the page.
Firefox
- During a call, click the camera/microphone icon in the address bar.
- Remove the block, or choose Allow.
- Reload the page.
Safari
- Open Safari → Settings (or Preferences) and go to Websites.
- Select Microphone in the list.
- Set the site to Allow.
- Reload the page.
Operating system settings
- macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone, and turn on your browser.
- Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone, and allow apps and your browser to use it.
After changing permissions, close and reopen the browser if calls still can't access the mic.
