Outbound Calls With the Web Dialer
What the web dialer is
The web dialer (softphone) lets you place and manage calls from a supported browser. It's different from the power dialer, which works through call lists, and from calling in the mobile app.
Your browser must be allowed to use the microphone. Headsets, VPNs and network settings can affect audio. If you record calls, follow the consent and disclosure rules that apply where you and your contacts are.
Make a call
- Click the phone icon to open the dialer.
- Search for a contact or type a number.
- Choose the number you call from if you have more than one.
- Click Call.
You can also call from a contact record or a conversation.
During the call
- Mute and hold.
- Keypad for menus and extensions.
- Transfer to a teammate or another number.
- Notes and call scripts.
- Record, if recording is enabled.
After the call
Choose a call disposition and add notes. The call appears in the contact's conversation, with the recording if there is one.
Troubleshooting
- Can't hear or be heard: check microphone permission and your audio devices.
- Can't place calls: make sure a number is assigned to you and you have calling permission.
- Poor audio: see How to Fix Bad Call Quality.
