Porting Options: US In-App vs International
What porting is
Porting moves a phone number from another carrier into your sub-account. You'll sign a Letter of Authorization (LOA) that lets the move happen.
Option A: In-app port-in (US numbers)
Eligible US numbers can be ported from Settings → Phone System → Phone Numbers → Port-In Numbers. See Submit and Track Port-In Number Requests.
Option B: Manual port request (international)
Numbers outside the US are ported through a manual request:
- Gather documents: a recent bill from your current carrier, the account holder name and address, the account number and PIN if any, and any country-specific identity or address documents.
- Submit the porting request through support with the signed LOA.
- Approval and FOC: the carriers review the request and set a Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date when the number moves.
Tips
- Keep service active with your current carrier until the port completes.
- Details must match your carrier account exactly.
- Some countries also need a regulatory bundle for the number.
- Porting can take from a few days to several weeks depending on the country.
