Create Google Demand Gen Campaigns in Ad Manager

What Demand Gen is

Google Demand Gen campaigns show visual ads across YouTube, Discover, Gmail, Maps and the Google Display Network. Use them to build awareness, drive clicks or get conversions before someone searches for you.

Before you start

  • Connect your Google Ads account in Marketing → Ad Manager → Settings.
  • Have your images, logo, headlines and descriptions ready. Videos are optional but recommended for YouTube.

Create the campaign

  1. Go to Marketing → Ad Manager and click Create Campaign.
  2. Choose Google, then Demand Gen.
  3. Pick your goal (for example clicks, conversions or awareness) and enter a campaign name.
  4. Set your budget (daily or total), start and end dates, and bid strategy.
  5. Choose locations and languages.
  6. Build your audience: interests, demographics, your own customer lists or lookalike segments.
  7. Create your ads: upload images or video, add a logo, headlines, descriptions, a call to action and the final URL.
  8. Review the campaign and click Publish.

After publishing

Google reviews new ads before they run, usually within one business day. Track results from the Ad Manager dashboard and adjust budget, audiences or creatives as performance comes in.

Tips

  • Upload several image sizes (landscape, square and portrait) so Google can show your ads in more places.
  • Give new campaigns a week or two to learn before making big changes.
