Click Tracking and Click Performance in Email Statistics

Click tracking shows which links in your email were clicked, by whom and how often. It's off by default, so turn it on for each campaign before you send.

Turn on click tracking

  1. Go to Marketing → Emails → Campaigns and open or create your campaign.
  2. On the Send and Schedule page, scroll to Additional Settings.
  3. Turn on Track Clicks.
  4. Optionally, turn on UTM Tracking to tag your links for analytics tools.
  5. Send the campaign.
If you send without Track Clicks, no click data is collected for that campaign.

View click performance

  1. Go to Marketing → Emails and open the Campaigns tab.
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to your sent campaign and select Statistics.
  3. Click Load More Statistics.
  4. Select the Click Performance tab.
  5. Click an individual link to see which contacts clicked it.

Click metrics

  • Total Clicks: every click on every link, including repeat clicks by the same person
  • Total Unique Clicks: recipients who clicked at least one link, counted once each
  • Unique Engagements: recipients who interacted with at least one link
  • Clicks per Unique Open: the share of unique opens that led to a click
  • Links in this email: each link's URL, the element it's in (text, button or image), total clicks and unique clicks

When clicks aren't tracked

  • Track Clicks was off when the campaign was sent
  • Test emails
  • Trigger links, which are tracked separately
  • Links that don't start with http:// or https://, including links saved in custom values
  • Email address (mailto:) and anchor links
  • System links, such as preview, unsubscribe and affiliate links
  • Links with typos or errors
  • RSS and A/B test campaigns
Links that use custom values can sometimes break. Send a test campaign to a few contacts to check them.
