Troubleshoot Google Ads Reporting
Most Google Ads reporting problems come from one of three things: the connection, the tracking template, or duplicate names.
1. Check the connection
Go to Settings > Integrations and confirm that:
- Google Ads shows as connected.
- The connected email is the one that has access to your ads account.
- That user has Admin access in Google Ads.
- The right ads account is selected.
If anything looks wrong, disconnect and reconnect.
2. Check your tracking template
At the account level in Google Ads, set the tracking template so every click carries UTM details. A common template is:
``
{lpurl}?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_content={creative}&utm_term={keyword}&gclid={gclid} ``Click Test in Google Ads to make sure your landing page still loads.
3. Use unique names
Campaigns, ad groups, and ads with the same name can't be told apart in reporting. Give each one a unique name.
Still off?
- New data can take up to 24 hours to show.
- Leads are only attributed when they take a tracked action, such as submitting a form or booking.
- Leads from forms hosted outside FunnelStreams need the external tracking script.
