Guidelines for Custom Questions in Google Lead Forms

When you create a Google lead form in Ad Manager, you can add custom questions to qualify leads. Google reviews these questions, and forms with questions that break its rules can be rejected.

Questions that are allowed

  • Clear, relevant questions about your product or service, such as "What service are you interested in?" or "When do you want to get started?"
  • Multiple-choice or short-answer questions that help you follow up

Questions to avoid

  1. Poorly written questions with grammar or spelling mistakes
  2. Sensitive personal information, such as health conditions, financial status, criminal history, religion, sexual orientation or political views
  3. Identification numbers, such as Social Security, passport or driver's license numbers
  4. Account credentials, such as passwords or PINs
  5. Questions that collect contact details already gathered by standard fields, such as email or phone number
  6. Emojis, special characters or ALL CAPS
  7. Questions unrelated to the ad or offer

Tips

  • Keep forms short. Every extra question lowers the number of people who submit.
  • Use multiple choice where you can to make answers easy and consistent.
  • If a form is rejected, read Google's reason, edit the question and resubmit.
